Confession, I am a workout junky. I can't help it. I am now, while late to the party, totally hooked on Insanity. I know, but I just can't help it. My sisters both had it and we worked out together (which I absolutely loved). I had to get it! So, guess who worked out with me this morning...the illustrator! I had an absolute blast working out with him today. I swear I peed a little laughing so hard. It felt great! The illustrator yelled at Shaun T the whole time. I was so stinkin' proud of him doing that workout. It is freakin' insane, to say the least! I hope he does it again. I think it was a bad call to ask him right after he finished if he would. However, he did tell me later that he thinks it would be a good idea to do it again. Heck yeah! I have a workout buddy! I think we will alternate between walks and Insanity. I did do some Core Fusion first thing this morning and that was a great way to start the day. I love the balance of muscle toning and stretching.
Tonight, I did a quick garlic roasted chickpea salad. So easy...take your chickpeas, put them in a nonstick skillet, add salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder, toast them up and perfection! Quick, crunchy, toasty chickpeas!
Have you tried Insanity yet? What do you think? Do you get the workout high? I totally did after these workouts. I never got it before, but I actually want more!
I soooo want to try the Insanity workouts. Very jealous you have them! I love that your hubby did the workout with you. I can't convince Jason to try any of my workouts! Well, except for the beach bootcamp I made him do this summer LOL. And those chickpeas...yum! I must try those. Hope you're having a great evening.
ReplyDeleteThe Insanity workouts and the TurboFire workouts are the only 2 things I have asked for for Christmas. Too bad Peter & I don't exchange gifts and those are a bit out of the price range for family gifts. LOL
ReplyDeleteHow fun to workout with your man. It is always great to workout together, I agree. Something special about it.
I've never tried the insanity workouts, but people sure do love them!
ReplyDeleteMegan @ Braise the Roof is starting Insanity, too! She keeps telling me how much she loves it. I might just have to jump on the bandwagon if the rave reviews keep coming in!

ReplyDeleteDon't listen to her ladies! That workout is EVIL! I almost threw up!
ReplyDeleteSareena - that looks seriously intense! Glad you enjoyed it so much...think I will stick to my yoga..I still get super energized and relaxed all at the same time...great dinner too!
ReplyDeleteIs Insanity really high impact? That's the thing that concerns me about it.
ReplyDeleteCaitlin, it is extremely high impact, but it is a combination of cardio and muscle toning. I would not do it everyday. The plyometrics are crazy intense, but the workouts range from 30-60 minutes so I choose to do what I can depending on how I feel that day. I know what you do and I am pretty sure you could run laps around me (literally). I am sure you could do this. I have never gotten that crazy high from working out like runners talk about...until I did this! I wish I lived in Charlotte (because I love it there)...I would totally share it with you. I would not have gotten it unless I tried it out first.
ReplyDeleteI hope that helps!
I'm such a cardio bum. I spend 4 days of my week in the weights room :P
ReplyDeleteLove the post workout dinner! Makes me wish I could eat chickpeas!!!!
And totally hanging out for those crack nuts!
I have never heard of Insanity but wow! I don't know if I could handle that, props to you!!! Keep us updated. :D
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to try Insanity for a long time. I really need to get it. Sounds awesome, love workout high!
ReplyDeletelove that you had so much fun working out w/ your hubs! so sweet :)
ReplyDeleteBoth Christian and I did Insanity. We had to stop though because it was killing his lower back and I was in pain for days from the jumping, push ups, etc...it was too high impact for my fibromyalgia to handle. Good luck, it's definitely a tough workout!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried Insanity but I think I would like it. I did P90X for three months last Spring and enjoyed it. Although I had to mute it after a while because the talking annoyed me.
ReplyDeleteCrack nuts are soo hard to stop eating!! :) Your chickpeas sound great.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you and the Illustrator had fun working out. I love workout highs too - you usually have to work hard for them. I haven't tried Insanity, but maybe I should!
I've never done Insanity! Of course, I just moved to a place where I don't have downstairs neighbors, so this might be the time to give it a shot...
ReplyDeleteI did Insanity this summer and I absolutely LOVED it...while I was doing it...until the last week. I did the whole program, start to finish, as written, with additional weight lifting days 3 times a week (I'm crazy). Let's just say, I'd never do it that way again. The last week was TORTURE.
ReplyDeleteI think you are wise to do it the way you are. As written it is entirely way too much cardio and plyometrics for a normal body to handle. WAY too much.
We LOVE Insanity in our house! I do the workouts a few times per week. For me to do a dvd is huge! I hate dvd's... but this one is hardcore!
ReplyDeleteI have a little baby crush on Shawn T ;)
I want to try Insanity but I haven't because of the price. I have to find a way to get it!
ReplyDeleteThose sound delicious!! I'm assuming the chickpeas were canned?
ReplyDeleteInsanity, Turbofire, p90x, I have never done any of them and it seems the whole sphere was really "into" them about 3-6 mos ago and I never jumped on...and have no plans to just b/c I found my little at home workout groove thats working for me but good to know you love it!
ReplyDeleteand your chickpeas sound great! skillet vs. the oven/broiler..good to know.
