Yesterday was a complete day of rest for all of us. I don't know when the last time we did that was? We literally sat on the couch, the four of us, and watched Christmas movies the entire day. I did not cook anything. It felt amazing to just hang out with my family and not deal with anything! We ate leftovers from the past couple of days and tons of citrus fruit from our box of fruit. I don't know if I should be impressed or frightened by the amount of citrus we have consumed this past week. Hopefully this well guard the rest of us from the funk that Max has! Knock on wood!
Oh, I did have a tasty snack yesterday that is worth mentioning! I wanted something to dip my apple in, so I mixed together some Vanilla Epic Protein powder, pumpkin puree, cinnamon, a little water and a little stevia.
The addition of the protein powder made the pumpkin creamy and thick. The subtle vanilla undertones worked perfectly with the pumpkin.
I love finding different ways to use protein powders since I don't do the smoothie thing. I will definitely be making more in the way of protein puddings for snacks. This was full of flavor and a perfect afternoon snack.

It was sooooo good! :)
How can pumpkin puree look so good?? lol
ReplyDeleteI received a big bag of Vega protein powder from the Healthy Living Summit and I'm still going through it. I'm not a smoothie person, either, but when I'm nervous about lacking on protein, I bulk up my oatmeal with it. Works well! :)
ReplyDeletelove the creative protein powder application!
ReplyDeleteand i have been checking my reader the past few days and your site thinking hmmm, maybe i am missing her posts...good to know you've been busy, but hanging in there :)
I've never tried protein powder before... this looks so good!
ReplyDeleteHope everyone stays healthy and Max continues to be on the mend. Poor guy!
ReplyDeleteI love game nights. You know what? We should have our next blogger meet up be a game night at one of our houses and everyone bring some dishes to share. How fun would that be?!
I want to come to your game night!
ReplyDeleteGirl I am so glad you all had a complete day of rest. You deserve that!! And that dip sounds fantastic. I'm thinking it might be a good breakfast spread for toast???
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear one of your guys has been sick, but I'm glad you guys had some much needed down time yesterday!
ReplyDeleteoh gosh you deserve a week of rest!!! Glad you had a calm day yesterday! And I have to admit I love days when I do not have to cook anything, does not happen very often though.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed that Max feels better soon ad you've all got enough Vit C in your system to counteract the funk! Not a fun time of year to be sick :\ Glad you had a day to veg with the family, though. You deserved it, and I so know the feeling of just wanting to relax :)
ReplyDeleteIt definitely sounds like you deserved a rest day! What kind of job are you looking for? I can keep my ears open and let you know if I hear anything.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to the craziness going on, it's just that time of year. Good for you for watching movies all day with your family, sounds like a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteI thought that was apples and PB (my fav snack) at first. It looks just as creamy/satisfying. Will have to try it out. I just got some cinnamon roll protein powder that I think would be great.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely love that different use for protein powder! Hope Max is feeling better!
