Nutritional Yeast Waffle
(makes two regular size waffles)
1/2 cup oats (I use quick)
2 TBSP chickpea flour (makes the best tasting waffles!)
1 TBSP nutritional yeast
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
fresh ground black pepper
1/2 cup water
Mix it all together and cook according to your waffle iron's instructions. I like to toast it in the toaster oven to make it nice and crispy.
I scrubbed the house from top to bottom. Not that is was a mess, but I wanted the illustrator to come home to a clean home. I also baked a loaf of gluten free bread and made him a killer ham sandwich for when I picked him up.
I realized recently that I don't have many pictures of me with the boys, so I'm going to start working on that...even if I have to put the timer on to get them. I also wanted to take a picture of us yesterday as a memory of the weekend we got to have together. As they get older, they are going to want to spend less and less time with me, so I'm soaking up this time as much as possible. So, I will share...
I was trying to set the timer and took this shot...I have no idea what they are doing?
Jay is on his way to 13 and Max is 10...they are both going to pass me in height soon!
They read the funnies from the Sunday paper and it cracks me up. I remember looking forward to reading them when I was a kid.
Max too a picture of the back of my hair so I could see how much I got cut off. If feels great now! I plan to chop it off this summer and I am convinced I am doing the pixie cut. I actually can't wait! It's actally naturally wavy so this is more natural than the one from the other day.
I gave Max a haircut too!
I feel awkward posting pictures of myself, but I kind of feel like seeing people is a way to get to know them better. That's a major reason why I made the illustrator go to the convention last weekend. Do you feel awkward posting pics of yourself? I have to be honest, I like seeing people's smiling faces and being that we work from home...it's nice to "see" my friends even if it is through the computer.
Lindsay posted about smiling yesterday and really, I think it was such a great post! I find myself letting the bad stuff get to me, but I'm feeling great and really focusing on being happy with where I am right now! I have my baby back home now so today is all about being happy!
The pics are great! The kids are so cute, and you are too! I have to admit, thought, if I had hair that luscious, the last thing I'd want to do is chop it off. Although, long hair is kind of a pain! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are such a beauty and the family is adorable. I just love you guys. Your hair looks stunning, but more importantly - you could pass for 18 or 20!
ReplyDeleteYou - and your family - are gorgeous! You look so young!
ReplyDeleteI think it's important for parents to get in the pictures too...we take SO many of our kids, but it's nice to have family shots too.
Oh! And your ham sandwich looks so good!
Those eggs look delicious! I really liked seeing the pictures of you and your boys, you are an adorable family. I am still totally jealous of your hair!
ReplyDeleteIt's the protein giving you that energy.
ReplyDeleteYou're so pretty and your hair is amazing. So healthy!
Sometimes I feel weird posting pics just of myself, but I always think of how I like seeing pics of everyone else. I feel like it helps me get to know them better!! And, personally, I like that connection when I read a blog, you know?
ReplyDeleteAnd what cute boys you have!!!!
Sarena, you are SO gorgeous, and I love to see your beautiful face! (And that HAIR... so envious over here!! You would ROCK a pixie too!!) Your kiddos are dang cute btw. :)

ReplyDeleteI do feel weird posting pics of myself (unless I'm with Ted! lol) but I know how much I love seeing pictures of other bloggers. Maybe that sounds weird, but like you said - I do think it makes me feel like I "know" them more. Speaking of which, I haven't posted pictures of myself in quite a while. I'm still a real person, I promise!
The waffles look killer. Maybe I can convince my mom a waffle night is what we need tonight? Hope so :P And I Am SO glad to hear you're starting to feel better!!
I love seeing pics of you! Although I'm super excited to see you in person so soon! :) And that random pic of the boys doing their own thing is adorable. Those are the ones to treasure aren't they?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE all the photos of you and your guys! You are gorgeous. You look like you could be their sister, not their mom! Thanks so much for sharing them. :-) Oh, and I have yet to try chickpea flour, which is ridiculous since I'm a chickpea fanatic. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Shirley
I'm so glad that you are feeling happy and upbeat with more energy, Sarena. Its so awesome to hear! I love the pictures of you and the boys. You look beautiful and they are so cute (I'm sure they'd hate to know I just said that, hehe). Enjoy having Jay home! :)
ReplyDeleteBy Jay, of course, I meant Tony. Yikes.
ReplyDeleteYour hair is gorgeous, with those curls at the end! And I love the kiddos :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried nutritional yeast yet...I think because normal yeast gives me a belly ache I'm a bit scared of it.
I noticed before that you don't usually have pictures of yourself. Personally I think pictures are great!
ReplyDeleteI have only recently discovered your blog and am now a regular reader. I really like seeing pictures of you and your family. It's nice to see who's talking to me when I read your posts.
