Trapped Under Numbers...

It seems like forever since I wrote anything here! I'm currently trapped under a blanket of numbers. I have to finish closing out last year to send to the accountant and well, I am NOT a number person. So, to say I'm a little overwhelmed is an understatement. However, I am working on my skills of taking one step at a time and trying not to let the numbers get to me. I have already fixed a major problem that included allowing a certain 10 year old (Max) play games on my computer and lose the file I was working on only to find out I have been working from the wrong file. Yeah, fun stuff.

Anyway, I got up this morning and got a great workout in...which I totally needed and now I am heading back to deal with numbers. I will tell you that my incredible husband made me the best salad yesterday with leftover salad mix we brought back from a friend's house on Saturday night. A huge thank you to my friend for the salad since I haven't bought lettuce or tomatoes since December! The salad with the over easy egg makes the best lunch! I love the warm "dressing" the egg makes on the salad and super bonus, I get my B12 vitamins! Oh and things always taste better when someone else makes them.

As for treats yesterday, we finished off some date rice pudding. I loved the flavor dates added to the rice pudding. I decided to try dates instead of raisins since Jay doesn't care for raisins and he found a love for dates. Score.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day today! If I'm lucky, I will be done with numbers today and free to bake!

Raise of hands...who likes numbers? NOT ME!

  8. An egg on a salad is super delicious --and you are so right, meals taste so much better when someone else makes them!

Good luck with the numbers -- I like that sort of thing sometimes, but not when I'm under pressure!

  9. I've been trapped under a blanket of words...but I'd take that over numbers any day!!! I'm HORRIBLE at math-- one of the best days of my life was the day I completed my final math class in college, ha!

Hope you work your way out of your blanket...I'm still working on mine!

  16. Numbers make me crazy; and NOT a good crazy!! After enough time working with them I just end up staring at the page dazed and confused. Ugh. Sounds like you're nearing the home stretch, though!!
The rice pudding looks wonderful!! I imagine it's awesome with dates :]

  17. I love numbers!! I did our business taxes last month and will be doing the personal ones this week. I've been dreading it since we owe money, but don't mind doing them at all. But, my background is in accounting/finance, so I better like numbers :)

  18. Both my parents are accountants, but I didn't follow them in that career path. I'd say I'm fairly skilled with numbers, but definitely don't enjoy them.

Hope you'll be done soon and will have more time for things you enjoy!

ps- I have a fun giveaway on my blog! You should check it out!

  23. I LOVE runny egg yolks, although I have to make myself not think about it -- eggs and I have an on again/off-again relationship. I think I'm about to be on-again with them, especially since I'm eating only local foods this summer. When I was little my mom would make me soft-boiled eggs, and I'd dip butter-topped whole wheat bread into the runny yolk...SO comforting.

I love numbers... I didn't really like math classes in school, but my first job after college was as an accountant, and I've had that title a few times :)

hope you are number free soon!
