This weekend is sadly over. However, the high of great food and great family time is not forgotten.
Spring was all over!
I loved being out in the fresh air.
The boys did boy things...don't worry, this is the illustrator's parents property!
Apparently, Max was in deep thought...
Jay just loved being out and about.
The boys ran their first 5k this weekend. I was so proud of them. The ran the entire thing. It was a fund raiser for my nephew and niece's school. I had signed up to walk with my sister-in-law and niece (she's 5) while the boys decided they wanted to run with their cousins. They loved it! The event was extremely inspiring. It was in the state park by the lake, so the view was incredible too.
We had dinner at my sister-in-law and brother-in-law's house. I made a gluten free angel food cake with seven minute icing (she has celiac just like the illustrator) and a gluten free coconut cream pie (it was late when we pulled that out of the fridge, so no pictures).
She was in charge of dinner, so she grilled up pork chops...
and she grilled tons of vegetables...I had 4 bowls of grilled veggies (I have no shame).
Now, it's Monday and it's time to get some work done. The illustrator definitely had a mental and physical break (as did the rest of us). Now I'm ready to get back in the kitchen!
Congrats to the boys on their 5k!! Glad you all had a relaxing break!!!

Gorgeous photos! So sorry your spring break is over, but glad you had such a wonderful time. :-) Even though that was your IL's property, there's something fun about climbing a fence that says No Trespassing. (Not that I've ever done that myself.) Yippee on the boys' 5K run, too!

That is so great that your sons did that! It is such a sense of accomplishment when you finish and race and it's great they were able to experience that at such a young age!
