Banana Soft Serve with Fresh Berries!
I'm feeling a little all over the place right now. I'm still trying to get things settled and organized.
Simplification is the name of the game these days...

As much as I love being in the kitchen, baking, cooking and playing, lately it's been more about finding the quickest and easiest way to get good fuel into my body just to get out of the kitchen!

I froze a ton of bananas, recently, that didn't get eaten fast enough. I'm trying to start thinking ahead and freezing sliced bananas was such a great "think ahead" moment for me. I made banana soft serve at my sister-in-laws house when she pulled out ice cream for dessert the other night.

I loved banana soft serve before topped with maple peanut butter sauce, but this time, the fresh blueberries completely hit the spot. I had some the other evening with a mixture of blueberries, strawberries and blackberries, that one was amazing too. I won't lie to you, you have to love bananas to love this, but the texture is definitely soft serve! I add a little touch of NuNaturals Stevia to it to make it a little extra sweet depending on how ripe the bananas were when I froze them. Amazingly delicious and refreshing! My sister-in-law asked if I came up with this...I wish I was the genius behind this one, but sadly no. This is a perfect summer time treat that really takes no time at all, once the bananas are frozen, and it's so good for you! My kids love it too, which is a super bonus!

Living and eating around so many people has really made me think a lot about food lately. When it was just the four of us, eating the same food was really important. That hasn't really changed, but I have to be on it a lot more to fix things that I can eat with everyone else since meals are a little different. My pantry is dwindling and I need to get restocked to be back in the game!

For those of you out there that order supplies, what are your go to sites and why? Do you have any good cheats for sales? I am becoming an online shopper and I need some good suggestions.

Shameless plug...if you get a chance, would you please vote for my Georgia Peach Pie Cookies on BHG's facebook page? I would really appreciate your vote. Thank you to all of you who have voted and spread the word! It really means a lot to me to have your support!

I have a big bunch of bananas that ripened way too quickly -- so I was going to freeze them for smoothies/soft serve, etc. It is so nice to have cold foods in the summertime.

I usually shop online thru Amazon using the subscribe and save option. Set up a recurring purchase and you get an extra 15% discount and free shipping and you can cancel or modify the frequency at any time. You will get a reminder that your order will ship and then if you need to push it back you can. I used this method to get the 8oz boxes of almond milk which was great for my sons school and for no-waste cooking.

I have been the same way with the kitchen lately. as much as i still love cooking and baking, lately it's all about "okay, what's quick and easy?"
and banana soft serve has been my go-to dessert! yours looks wonderful with the fresh blueberries :)

I do a lot of online shopping. for food, i usually look to either iHerb or Swanson; depends what I need. I'm cheap with shipping, though. I was all set to check out somewhere the other day for some dates and some flour and then it's saying $12 to ship. Uh, no thanks. swanson and iherb only charge a little bit more, but the shipping is WAY less!

oh! i know this is a novel already, but do you do the coffee club through green mtn. for your keurig? You save a couple bucks on each box and if you get 4, shipping is free. might seem like a lot at the time but then you don't have to worry about it for a couple weeks and you've got variety ;)

Do share if you find any other great deals anywhere!

I order lots of stuff on amazon, vitacost, iherb, live superfoods, the raw food world...well, I shouldn't say I order a lot, but when I do, I order from those places the most. Surprising what you can get through amazon for "health foods"!!

I love iherb. Order a ton of stuff from flours to shampoo to protein powder off that site. You can set up an affiliate account with them and anytime someone purchases an item using your coupon code for $5 off their first order, you get credit towards your order.

Also, we're big on Amazon. Since there is no distribution center in TN, you don't have to pay TN's steep sales tax, and if the item you want is available for automatic shipment, you can set that up and save even more. We're on auto shipment for diapers, oat bran, and coconut flour.

P.S. All about keeping it simple these days!

    Looks so good!
I agree that you do have to like bananas to appreciate it though. My boyfriend isn't crazy about them but I just got the idea from Pure2Raw to make it with peaches. Will definitely have a try!

I am totally going to make the banana soft serve. I can only imagine how decadent it would be with the dairy-free caramel bananas I made the other night. Thanks so much for the inspiration
